AVAILABLE TECHNOLOGIES FOR ADAPTING TO CLIMATE CHANGE
Climate change is a global issue of our time. It threatens the countries of Central Asia with significant reductions in water resources, increased risks to public health, employment and food security, and ecosystem degradation.
The project of the Central Asian Regional Environmental Center “Adaptation to Climate Change and Mitigation of Its Consequences in the Aral Sea Basin” (CAMP4ASB) within the framework of the dissemination of accessible technologies in Central Asia for adaptation to climate change at the local level in May-October this year to conduct a series of educational trainings in Central Asian countries with theoretical and practical exercises.
The trainings will be aimed at raising awareness and potential of small farmers and households, small and medium enterprises, local communities, associations and NGOs on the use of climate-resilient technologies at the local level in the field of energy, water management and food production. Trainings include reports, videos, other materials on climate change issues and measures taken in Central Asian countries. Project experts will talk about affordable climate-friendly technologies, show examples of their manufacture and application on the basis of farms and individual farms with such experience.
More than 700 participants in the training will create further sustainable local and national networks for the dissemination of such technologies. Special trainings will be held in each country for women, who make up a significant part of the local population and are more vulnerable to the social, economic and environmental risks associated with climate change.

Practical exercises include a technology demonstration and joint exercises aimed at mastering the skills of self-production and use of affordable and climate-resistant technologies in the energy, agriculture and water sectors.
In Kazakhstan, trainings will be held in Almaty, Akmola, Zhambyl, Kzylorda and North Kazakhstan regions, where the following technologies will be presented: hydroponics, rainwater collection for household needs, a mini-town, a collector for hot water, biohumus production, solar dryers, energy-efficient drip irrigation, phytopesticides, mulching, vermicultivation based on California worms, Kamcor nano-paint for heat saving, solar distillers, concentrator and solar dryers.
In Kyrgyzstan, in: Chui, Issyk-Kul, Naryn, Talas, Jalal-Abad, Osh and Batken regions. Where the following technologies will be presented: Hydrotaran, Technology for increasing productivity and stress resistance of fruit crops by trimming and grafting, Growing fish and producing fish products all year round, indoors., Foldable solar cooking stove and solar water heating barrel, Drip irrigation, Self-assembled solar air collector, Hydroponics, Solar dryer, Solar greenhouse, Vermicultivation complex, Use of plants and insects to protect crops from pests, technologies to improve soil fertility.
In Tajikistan in: Gissar, Shartuz regions and Khatlon region. Where the following technologies will be presented: Energy-efficient Nepalese-type furnaces, Pruning and grafting technology to increase the sustainability of gardening, improving the productivity of home gardens and vineyards, Solar greenhouse, Solar concentrator, Phytopesticides, Planting plants in stone bags with moisture retention in the soil, Mulching, Fuel briquettes , Package (3-5) of technologies for improving soil fertility.
In Turkmenistan in the areas of Lebap, Dashoguz, Akhal, Mary and the Balkans. The following technologies will be presented: Growing pistachio nuts, drip irrigation, and protecting gardens from livestock using a photovoltaic fence using solar energy, Construction of a small reservoir for collecting rainwater and storing water, and using it for drip irrigation of gardens and vegetable gardens, Solar desalination plant , Solar plant for drying fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, Solar photovoltaic or wind station for lifting water from wells in farms, Greenhouse - pyramid, Production of vermicompost, Folding solar oven and oven, Hydroponics.
In Uzbekistan in: Tashkent, Khorezm, Ferghana, Navoi regions and Karakalpakstan. The following technologies will be presented: Drip irrigation systems, KondensKompressor solar drip irrigation technology, straw “river” irrigation system, Plastic bottle irrigation technology package, Use of thermophilic combustion of organic waste substrate to heat water, Folding solar oven, Cardboard solar furnace boxes, Hydroponics, Solar kitchens with a parabolic concentrator, Processing organic waste with earthworms and beneficial microorganisms.
