Bakhyt YESSEKINA

President

Doctor of Economics, Professor. She is a well-known specialist in public administration and sustainable development in Kazakhstan, the CIS and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. She was the National Coordinator of the First Inter-State Report on Testing the Indicators of Sustainable Development for the Aral Sea Basin (1999-2001), a member of the working group for the preparation of the UNDP-National Agenda-21 report (2000-2002), the Country Report (ECOSOC) achievement of the Millennium Development Goals, the first National Report (ESCAP) on integrating the principles of "green growth" into the strategic planning system (2008-2010), etc.
The author of more than 150 publications, including 6 monographs, 6 brochures in the state, Russian and English languages.
The winner of the "Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists" Award for the best research in the field of economy in 2011, was awarded the anniversary medal "20 years of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan", the breastplate of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan "For the development of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan".

Saltanat Zhumabekova

Executive Director NESDCA

PhD  in economics., Deputy Director of NESDCA.  Took part in base and applied research on sustainable development issues, competitiveness, clusters in mineral-row complex, industrial modernization as well as numerous international projects with UNDP, UNESCAP, UNEP and others.  She has more than 50 publications. 

Bulat Yessekin

International expert 

Renowned expert in the field of ecology and development in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Central Asia and European regions. In 1989-1993 headed the introduction of environmental protection economic instruments, extension to the international level the problems of the Aral Sea, the Caspian Sea and the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site, headed General Administration of State Control on environment protection.
In 1993-1997 he headed the Environmental Office of Alma-Ata city and,simultaneously, headed the public group on the development of the 1st National Plan for Environmental Protection. In 1997 he was elected as a leader of the World Bank project "National Action Plan on environmental protection in Kazakhstan".He is an initiator of the establishment of the Regional Environmental Centre and its first Director. He led the Centre within 1999-2006 and greatly contributed to its success and sustainability.He has an extensive experience in the practical implementation of the various programs, in international projects’ management and in successful conduction of inter-state negotiations. From 2007 he is an international expert, an initiator and developer of the Green Bridge Partnership Program.
He is a Deputy Chairman of the UNECE Bureau of the Committee on eco-politics, Geneva (since 1998), a Member of the Asia-Pacific Forum of famous people, Japan (2000-2002), of the Board of Directors of the Global Water Partnership, Stockholm (since 2013), of the Council on Sustainable Development in Kazakhstan (since 2006), of NGO Coordinating Council "Eco-Forum of Kazakhstan" and other professional networks.

Gulmira Ismagulova

Expert on Sustainable Energy Development

PhD  in economics .Head of the Ecological-economic Department of the Institute of Economic of the Ministry Education   of   Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Scientific experience – more than 18 years (20 research projects by support of Science Commitee  of the Ministry Education and Science ,Ministry of Environmental Protection,  Agency on Statistic, Informatic –analytical Centre of  Akimat of Almaty city, Economics and Budget Planning Department  of Akimat of West-Kazakhstan region) ;  international projects with UNDP, UNESCAP, OSCE,  SOFRECO and others.  She has published 46 publications, including 3 monograph , 5 brochures.

Sholpan Sapargali

Expert on eco-policy

PhD   in economics. Head of Project Management, Office Board Member of LSC  "Kazakstan’s Centre of state –partnership ". She was implemented Sustainable Development projects since 2001 and also has additional experience in socio-economic researches by support Government of Kazakhstan, UNDP, UNESCAP, UNEP , PPP methodology work, investment projects expertise, state administration education and etc . She has published more 50 publications.

Zhamilya Utarbaeva

Expert in Public Relations

Candidate of Political Science, MBA. Coordinator of the International Relations Office of KIMEP. In the field of projects on sustainable development has been working since 1998. She worked in the projects of the World Bank, the European Commission, UNDP. Has the experience of a national expert on the development of those tasks for the projects of the European Commission in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. He also has experience working in the field of public relations and organizing PR events in financial institutions, national development institutions and PR agencies. He has more than a dozen publications on the problems of sustainable development.

Raushan Kanaeva

Expert on youth policy

Public Relations Expert at KIMEP. She participated in the implementation of several projects on the problems of sustainable development, incl. on the development of indicators of sustainable development for the Republic of Kazakhstan. Participated in the development of the concept of sustainable development of the Ili-Balkhash region. She was a delegate to the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg in 2002. She worked at the Swiss Agency for Cooperation and Development (SDC) on the development of mountain communities.

Dana Galiyeva

Environmental engineer, LNEC representative, Consultant “Green Academy” SREC

Has dedicated her studies and work to environmental sustainability, with international expertise accomplished various research studies and produced a number of publications along with leading experts of this area. She holds strong understanding and visions in the subject and is known for promotion of open-minded innovative approach to finding solutions for existing issues.
She finished  BSc Geography, King's College London, University of London; Brittin College, Torquay, Devon, UK, training curses of UNESCAP.
She worked environmental engineer in Institute of Economics under Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan, climate change expert of Network of experts Sustainable development in Central Asia, Sustainable and Wellness Tourism (Portugal), Sustainability consultant Jones Lang LaSalle-London, UK; environmental scientist of KazEcoProject  LLP (Kazakhstan); Project and conference Assistant  of the Central Asia Regional Environmental Centre (CAREC), Scientific Centre of Biotechnology and Conservation (Kazakhstan). She has several publication on green economy, climate adaptation and green building standards.
